The Capital of Lingerie

We picked up an interesting job this week, working with the Latvian Development Agency on the promotion of Latvian Lingerie in the UK on behalf of the Latvian Lingerie Manufacturers Association who are coming to the MODA exhibition at Birmingham NEC on the 19 – 21 FEBRUARY

Now I have always had a passing interest in the subject, and I well remember a meeting I held with a Latvian lingerie company about 7 years ago, where I met two of their young attractive sales team in a bar in the old town of Riga, they came armed with a bag of samples and insisted in passing various garmentsacross the table to me whilst urging me to “feel the quality”

However I did not realise the scale of the industry. The small port city of Liepaja can reasonably claim to be a European centre of the industry with over 50 companies and 5000 people employed. Having seen the product I have to say the quality is excellent, and I think there should be some great opportunities for the companies here.
